#Holidays: Celebrating Clinical Research and Spreading Awareness on Social Media

As many know, clinical research thrives on community participation and patient awareness. Social media has proven itself as a successful tool for reaching targeted patient populations and spreading the word about health and clinical research initiatives. Twitter, in particular, has a variety of unique ways to connect and update users, including “hashtag holidays.” These unique, and sometimes silly, holidays gather social media users in support and appreciation of a cause or observance using specific hashtags on designated days of the year. For example, #CheeseLoversDay falls on January 20 and #RandomActsofKindnessDay is celebrated on February 17.

Many hashtag holidays are certainly worth celebrating, both on social media and in daily life. Not only are they fun and meaningful but, by showing your support on social media, they could also help you attract a wider audience of potential patients. 1. How can we engage and inform our community about the importance of clinical research and volunteerism of our outpatient studies. We would like have this as a platform for international clinical trials day next year.
