In just over a month, over 200 clinical research professionals will gather for the research community’s premiere conference. The 2019 Spring Onsemble Conference kicks off Tuesday, March 26 in sunny Dana Point, CA featuring an agenda packed with valuable interactive sessions. We’re thrilled to announce that the conference will include the highest number of available continuing education credits ever at an Onsemble Conference, with 40 CEUs from the California Board of Registered Nurses and 30 CEUs from ACRP.
Presenting those sessions are a wide array of industry thought leaders from some of the most prominent institutions in clinical research. With topics ranging from business operations management to billing compliance to grant reporting and beyond, the Onsemble Conference provides an excellent opportunity to earn CEUs while gaining meaningful, concrete ideas to bring back to your organization. Here are just a few sessions that qualify for CEUs. For a complete list, view our Onsemble Conference agenda.
1. Best Business Practices for CTO Management
Nick Fisher, Executive Director of Research & Business Administration at the Alvin J. Siteman Cancer Center, will present a leadership-focused session on implementing business practices to streamline operations and increase research productivity. With over 15 years experience managing Siteman’s administrative operations and oncology clinical trials program, Nick has firsthand experience overcoming some of the most common challenges faced by clinical research operational leadership.
2. Encouraging User Adoption & Compliance During New Implementations
Implementing new enterprise software, whether a CTMS, EMR or eIRB system, is a complex, challenging process that affects existing workflows, concepts and culture. In this session, key stakeholders in a recent OnCore implementation at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center will highlight their strategies to promote increased training retention, improved user compliance and positive user experiences during their rollout.
3. Improving Your Clinical Trial Staff Onboarding Experience
This session, led by representatives from the Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey, focuses on building a comprehensive, interprofessional orientation to create a safe, effective work environment for new employees. The team will outline their approach to reduce inefficiencies and improve communication, teamwork and care outcomes, and share their progress to date with the initiative. In addition to offering CEUs, this session is ideal for those looking to improve and centralize onboarding processes across their institution.
4. Workshop: How to Survey Stakeholders to Measure Process Improvement
Wendy Tate, Forte’s Director of Analytics, brings more than 15 years’ experience in various roles within human laboratory, human subjects protection, and clinical research roles, including leadership roles with the IRB and Cancer Center clinical trials office at the University of Arizona. In this session, she will walk attendees through the development, execution, analysis, and presentation steps of a survey designed to support process improvement initiatives.
5. Change Management: Synchronizing New Workflows and Customer Training
This panel discussion features three representatives from the University of Florida Office of Clinical Research. The panelists will discuss their experience centralizing processes from the perspective of both core office staff and study teams. They will share their strategy for adapting compliance, metrics and research conduct workflows to their OnCore application, and explain how these workflows improved communication and training throughout their institution.
