Employee Volunteerism – A Forte Value

Being responsible, engaged community members is an important part of the Forte culture. To support this company value, every Forte team member receives 40 hours per year for volunteer time off so they can contribute to whichever activities are important to them. Though we don’t require team members to volunteer, it is highly encouraged, and many enjoy the benefit to its fullest.

Some examples of ways in which individual volunteer time has been used include:

  • Helping distribute meals for Meals on Wheels over the lunch hour
  • Traveling to Haiti to support medical needs
  • Working at an Autism camp for a week

In addition to individual volunteer efforts, organized “Team Forte” events occur regularly throughout the year. These are events in which several coworkers rally together to support a cause. Below are just a few of the ways Team Forte has contributed to area charities.

Habitat for Humanity

As a nonprofit housing organization, Habitat’s vision is for a “world where everyone has a decent place to live.” Team Forte regularly schedules days to go to a build site and work on whatever aspect of the house is currently under construction. Team members have had a hand in everything from roofing and windows, flooring and more.
